Iturcemi has successfully completed a large-scale, highly complex project in collaboration with Tata Steel, focusing on the electrical, instrumentation, and control (EIC) engineering of the BF6 blast furnace and its auxiliary systems.

The scope encompassed a comprehensive review and upgrade of the existing engineering, as well as the generation of new technical documentation for demolition, reinstallation, and wiring, in addition to the design of new MCC and control cabinets. Critical areas covered included the furnace (BF6), gas cleaning systems, coolers, and valves.

To ensure successful execution, a highly specialized multinational team was deployed, with on-site technicians in the Netherlands and a parallel team in Spain. This allowed for a combination of proximity to the client and robust technical production capabilities from the office.
Project management played a crucial role: detailed planning of deliverables, validation milestones, and inter-company coordination was established, ensuring adherence to deadlines and seamless integration with the Duro Felguera teams and direct communication with Tata Steel.
